Love Peanuts... but can't have them :(

by Amanda
(Louisville, Ky)

This story about your peanut outbreak is like me telling my exact story, you took the words out of my mouth! I love peanuts or anything with peanuts in them, but yeah on day 2 or 3 its severely bad whether last week I had perfectly clear skin, I hate it!

Also, I have a severe fragrance allergy! Ugh I feel like I cant do anything, LOL. I have to wash my clothes, towels, sheets in fragrance free detergent and make sure any product I put on my face isn't just hypo-allergenic (<-- people with fragrance allergies beware this word means nothing, if a product has fragrance you will break out anyways) it has to say fragrance free. Sensitive skin products sometimes also have fragrance in it so I always have to annoyingly read all labels. My skin is so extremely sensitive so not even my kids or boyfriend can touch my face or I'll break out.

What I've figured out though is besides knowing what personally breaks you out so that you can avoid it helps, but of course if you have clean pores your face can't break out so I recommend (a Dr. told me this) to boil some water and place a towel over your head to let the steam surround your face (don't get too close or put your face right over the steam cause it'll cause burns) for 10-15 minutes a day and that will keep your pores clean and help your face. It's inexpensive too :)

Amanda, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your "Peanuts Cause Acne" story with us. Thanks for the additional advice, as well.

I knew I wasn't alone...LOL.
