Mild to moderate types of acne? Sensitive skin? Salicylic Acid acne products may be for you!
Not only is Salicylic Acid acne ingredient ideal for mild to moderate
types of acne,
such as
whiteheads,
blackheads,
papules
and pustules.
Salicylic Acid is also good for people with sensitive skin.
I know, it's bad enough to deal with acne, but if you have sensitive skin too, that just adds to the problem. For those who find their skin too sensitive for
Benzoyl Peroxide
and especially
Glycolic Acid
then Salicylic Acid is a wonderful alternative. Also, with this great acne fighting ingredient, you have less chance of experiencing some of the drying side effects that come with using Benzoyl Peroxide or Glycolic Acid. Milder, but just as effective, Salicylic Acid contains an anti-inflammatory agent that will reduce swelling associated with inflammatory acne. This will allow for relief of the pain and discomfort that usually accompanies acne breakouts. Another plus side to Salicylic Acid? It's effectiveness in soaking up sebum (oil) and it's a great exfoliator. That's something good to know, because a good exfoliator means a quick turn-around of skin cells, which leads to quicker improvement of your skin! It works by gently dissolving protein in our skin that is responsible for bonding our skin cells together...which results in clogged pores. Then it effectively lifts those dead skin cell away. By the way,
Salicylic Acid acne ingredient can be found in a great acne cleanser
by Murad. Murad's Clarifying Cleanser 1.5% Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment is cool and very refreshing, this cleanser delivers a great menthol feel. This is one of my favorite acne cleansers. It's important to not over-use Salicylic Acid and keep in mind of the other products you apply to your skin. This includes, but is not limited to soaps, cosmetics, lotions and most importantly...sun exposure. Remember to protect your skin with an
acne moisturizer
that contains sunblock. Protect your skin! As always, exercise caution by following the instructions on the product and consult your dermatologist before beginning any treatment. Be patient, sometimes it takes 3-6 weeks to see noticeable results in your skin. Stick with it, your patience will pay off in the end.
