Sulfur For Acne Remains A Popular Acne Fighting Ingredient…Because It Works!

Another option for treating acne... is with sulfur. Using sulfur for acne has been dated back to hundreds of years. While some active acne ingredients have come and gone, sulfur (Sulfacetamide) has stood the test of time.

close up sulfur for acne mask2.jpgKnown for its awesome ability to absorb sebum (oil), dirt and other residue by reaching deep with-in your pores, sulfur is very effective against acne.

Sulfur is helpful for all types of acne.

You will find sulfur in many acne masks and is conveniently available in many over-the-counter (OTC) products.

Sulfur, when used in mask form, tends to be a little stubborn to remove. When removing your sulfur acne mask, you may need to apply a small amount of acne cleanser. Sulfur acne treatment is usually applied only once or twice per week and left on for a small amount of time (usually 5-15 minutes) and then rinsed off.

Because of its deep penetrating exfoliating ability, my skin only requires a sulfur acne mask 1 time per month and then I only leave it on 1-2 minutes and rinse.

Proactiv Solution offers their Refining Mask and it contains 4% sulfur.

Then there is Murad's Clarifying Mask with 4% sulfur acne treatment.

Both these acne masks go on smooth, easy, and deliver optimal results.

Tip: Refrain from using Sulfur (Sulfacetamide) if you are allergic to sulfa drugs or products. This may indicate an allergy to sulfur and/or sulfur acne products. Please consult your personal physician or dermatologist.
