Whitehead acne, never a welcome sight to see, but usually short lived and one of the least likely to cause scarring...
...but who likes to awaken to whitehead acne? Certainly not me. Whiteheads occur when your pores are completely blocked with bacteria, dead skin cells and sebum (oil). Like mentioned earlier, the good news is, this is a mild type of acne and usually does not last long. Treating whiteheads is fairly easy. If you know how to control oily skin, you will have a better chance to prevent oily skin.
Another bit of information,
whitehead acne responds well to acne cleansers
that contain
Benzoyl Peroxide.
I’ve also had a lot of success using
“Murad Acne Spot Treatment”,
on this
type of acne.
The trick to Murad’s Spot Treatment
3% Sulfur,
is to use it several times a day, throughout the day. It literally shrinks those blemishes right up! If you develop mild to moderate breakouts you can probably do a good job in controlling them yourself, with a good treatment program which should include a good acne cleanser, acne toner, over the counter acne treatment
or prescription acne medicine, and acne moisturizer with sunscreen.
Remember, a good
acne cleanser
should: • Contain a good bacteria fighting agent • Gently exfoliate
A good
acne toner
should: • Be alcohol free • Refresh and tighten pores
A good
over the counter acne treatment
or prescription acne medicine should: • Help control and prevent future breakouts
A good hydrating
acne moisturizer
with sunscreen (even for oily skin) should: • Hydrate • Be hypoallergenic • Non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores) • Include a sunscreen If you have uncontrollable breakouts , I would then recommend a visit to your dermatologist for
oral acne medication
such as
Accutane
or
Tetracycline,
to aid in your treatment.
